Thiamine hydrochloride
Vitamin B1
Vitamin supplement to nutrient media. It stimulates growth and proliferation of cells in culture.
Thiamine is not synthesized in mammalian cells and must be supplied with food. Thiamine is coenzyme of many enzymatic complexes and thus participates in metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats.
Its lack provokes disorder of oxidative decarboxylation of α-keto acids and the metabolism of carbohydrates is partially blocked.
