Perselect medium for sperm separation by density gradient

A ready-to-use medium consisting of silane-coated colloidal silicon particles based on Percoll PLUS. It contains salts, amino acids, carbohydrates and the antibiotic gentamicin sulfate. 

The medium provides physiological conditions for separating spermatozoa from ejaculate by density gradient fractionation in preparation for assisted reproductive technology procedures.

• The medium Perselect 100% is intended for preparing gradients of the required density. Gradients in the range of 35–90% can be prepared as needed.

• The media Perselect 90% and 45% are intended for preparing a single-step gradient.

Perselect 90% can be used alone as a single-step gradient or in combination with Perselect 45% as a two-step gradient, depending on the buoyant density and required purity of the selected cell fraction. For best results, prepare the gradient immediately before use.
