Insulin–transferrin–selenite solution, 100×, 10 mL
A sterile concentrated solution of growth factors and trace elements for supplementation of serum-free culture media.
Appearance: A clear solution. Component concentrations in the 100× concentrate: insulin, 1000 mg/L; transferrin, 550 mg/L; sodium selenite, 0.67 mg/L. At a 1× working concentration, it increases HeLa cell proliferation in DMEM/F-12 with 1% fetal bovine serum by at least 25%.
Intended use: A supplement for serum-free culture media such as DMEM and RPMI-1640, used to culture hybridomas and other cell lines. Intended to stimulate cell growth and proliferation in the absence of serum.
Directions for use: Shake the bottle before use. For sterile work, open under aseptic conditions.
Storage: Store at −20°C, protected from light.
