Sodium bicarbonate, 99.7–100.3%, 50 kg, CDH
A white crystalline powder of the sodium salt of carbonic acid (NaHCO₃), molecular weight 84.01 g/mol. Meets BP, USP and Ph.Eur. requirements. Assay: 99.7–100.3%, by acidimetry. Not classified as hazardous under EU classification.
Product: A white crystalline powder. A 5% aqueous solution is almost clear and colourless.
Intended use: Used in laboratories and in industrial and professional applications. Used to prepare buffers, adjust the pH of cell culture media, perform biochemical and pharmaceutical analyses, and manufacture medicines and diagnostic products.
Directions for use: For cell culture, add sodium bicarbonate to the medium, usually at 0.5–2.0 g/l, depending on the formulation and required buffering capacity. Prepare the solution aseptically using cell culture-grade water. After addition, sterilize the medium by filtration through 0.22 µm or 0.1 µm filters.
Storage conditions: Store tightly closed in a dry, cool, well-ventilated place. Avoid moisture. Transport by any covered means of transport.
