In 2026, we celebrate Biologist's Day on April 25 – which falls on the fourth Saturday of April.
A fun fact – the date was chosen on a geographical basis: by the end of April, snow has already melted in most of Russia, allowing biologists to fully enjoy the holiday outdoors, which is very much in the spirit of their work. And therein lies the main paradox: on their professional day, specialists escape the laboratory and its sophisticated instruments to head out into nature.
The history of the holiday in Russia dates back to 1990, when students and researchers from biology faculties decided to mark the day of their profession. The holiday soon gained wide recognition and became a traditional event in the life of Russia's biological community, bringing together a wide range of specialists – from molecular biologists and geneticists to microbiologists, physiologists, and field zoologists. All of them are remarkably educated people who have dared to explore the mysteries of nature.
We thank each and every one of them for taking such a bold step, and we hope that in today's world, we can support their work with high-quality equipment and consumables that simplify tasks and free up valuable time – time that can be spent on health and rest.
