Today is June 1 – a day that reminds us of the importance of protecting the most vulnerable among us.
Children are small adults, but no matter how wise and perceptive they may be, the most important thing is to let them remain children and to give them a healthy, joyful childhood.
The idea of protecting children's rights is believed to have emerged after World War I, when tens of thousands of minors found themselves on the brink of poverty. In 1924, the League of Nations adopted the Geneva Declaration of the Rights of the Child – the first international document to proclaim the right to development, protection from hunger and exploitation, help in times of need, and upbringing in the spirit of service to others.
June 1 is not only Children's Day. Since 2013, this same date has also been declared World Parents' Day. So today, we also thank all parents for their love and care.
