Dear clients and partners!

On April 15, 1996, the IFBLS established a professional holiday – Laboratory Diagnostics Specialist Day. Thirty years later, we continue to mark this date to express our appreciation and draw attention to work whose value is not always fully recognised.

Before a doctor can make a diagnosis and prescribe treatment, they need accurate, verified data – and that data comes from diagnostics specialists. Up to 70% of information about a patient's health can be derived from laboratory tests – they lay the foundation on which any medical opinion is built. Beyond that, many scientific breakthroughs rely on experimental data obtained through long, sometimes round‑the‑clock research.

A laboratory diagnostics specialist is a professional armed with test tubes, microscopes, high‑tech equipment, and extensive knowledge, processing hundreds of samples every day. Their field of work is incredibly broad – from routine tests to the most complex studies requiring advanced expertise. Their responsibilities include not only the analysis itself but also the preparation, proper storage, and transportation of biological material.

Thank you to all laboratory specialists for your dedication and hard work!
